“If you ask me, there isn’t enough blue food.”

… Bridget Jones’ Diary? Anyone?

My breakfast was exceptionally beautiful today.

Mmm mmm mm. That’s organic flax plus cereal with milk; half a banana; a handful of GORGEOUS blueberries, of which we have MANY MORE because we got a MASSIVE box at Costco; and chopped up almonds.

A perfect mixture of crunchy and soft, sweet and tangy and milky. And nice and cool, as it is already 86 degrees here, not counting the humidity. I think it’s going to be kind of an INDOOR day.

Lunch is gorgeous leftovers:

Szechuan green beans (leftover Chinese), grilled salmon, and barley risotto. Admittedly the combination is a little weird (although all the individual elements are DELICIOUS). I’m hoping the salmon bridges the gap between Italy and China, as both those cultures are fond of fish.

Hope everyone has a good day! This is my last week of work, and I’m not gonna lie, I’m itchin’ to be done.

yo, salmon goes with everything! yumm!
And here's a quote I found abt blue foods:

"Blue food is a rare occurrence in nature. There are no leafy blue vegetables (blue lettuce?), no blue meats (blueburger, well-done please), and aside from blueberries and a few blue-purple potatoes from remote spots on the globe, blue just doesn't exist in any significant quantity as a natural food color. Consequently, we don't have an automatic appetite response to blue. Furthermore, our primal nature avoids food that are poisonous. A million years ago, when our earliest ancestors were foraging for food, blue, purple and black were "color warning signs" of potentially lethal food."

What a great lunch! I heard there might be another Bridget Jones Diary in the works where she has a baby.
